FAQ
Q1 Do I need to drill holes to mount the kit? Will it work on my bike?
A1 The Pivot Kit Universal has been designed as a universal mount for all bikes. If the hole pattern on your under tail does not match up with the mounting holes it may be necessary to drill 2 holes (mounting hardware provided); see product specifications to verify hole spacing and footprint for compatibility.
Q2 Will my plate work with the kit?
A2 See product specifications to verify hole spacing for plate compatibility. The Pivot Kits are designed to ft both WIDE and NARROW format plates.
Q3 Is it legal?
A3 With a wide range of regulations and even wider range of bike models, this is left up to the customer to determine this with your local authorities. In essence, this kit has been designed for maximum mounting flexibility allowing for better visibility of your plate and turn signals (if mounted).
Q4 How is the preload adjusted for ON-THE-FLY control?
A4 Users may adjust the preload on the PIVOT BOLTS using the hex key provided.
Q5 Is a motorized version available?
A5 Due to liability issues, the PIVOT KIT UNIVERSAL is not available with a motor. However, our designers have included mounting points to enable customers to fit their own servo kits.
Q6 Why do I need this kit?
A6 Most enthusiasts place great emphasis on cleaning up the rear tail. But when it comes to mounting the plate they simply screw on using a cheap ‘home-made’ bracket. The pivot kit provides a professional appearance with the ultimate in mounting flexibility to suit each ride.
