Q1 Which models does the PIVOT KIT ZX work on?
A1 The PIVOT KIT ZX has been specifically designed for bolt-on installation onto the 2003/2004 ZX6R, ZX6RR, Z1000 (plus the 2004 Z750). Installation on previous generations is possible if a similar 5-hole pattern is drilled.

Q2 How do the electrical connections work?
A2 The PIVOT KIT ZX wires tap onto the original plate light wires using wire tap connectors provided. PIVOT KIT ZX wires are color matched to the OEM wires for easy identification/installation.

Q3 What is the thin BLUE/GREEN auxiliary wire for?
A3 The blue wire with green stripe is an auxiliary wire that enables the Dr X Kit ZX to communicate with the PIVOT KIT ZX for ON-THE-FLY ON/OFF manipulation of the PIVOT KIT ZX LEDs. When the BLUE LEDs on the Dr X Kit ZX are disabled (using the 3 BRAKE LEVER TAP), the PIVOT KIT ZX LEDs are also turned off. This feature has been added to allow for on-the-fly DARK MODE when riders want to toggle the PIVOT KIT LEDs ON or OFF (works with all animations)

Q4 Will my plate work with the kit?
A4 See product specifications to verify hole spacing for plate compatibility. The Pivot Kits are designed to fit both WIDE and NARROW format plates. The PIVOT KIT series has been sold worldwide and to date all plates have been compatible (i.e. all US & Canada States/provinces, Europe, Australia, Japan, South Africa, etc..)

Q5 How do I program the LED animations?
A5 PIVOT KIT ZX electronics allow for various LED animations through our ground breaking RIP technology. Included in these animations is an OFF state, which allows the user to turn off the LEDs while the bike remains on without undoing any of the wiring. Q6 Is it legal?
A6 With a wide range of regulations, this is left upto the customer to determine with your local authorities. In essence, this kit has been designed for maximum mounting flexibility with illumination and a professional look >> should not pose a problem.

Q7 How is the preload adjusted for On-THE-FLY control?
A7 Users may adjust the preload on the PIVOT BOLTS using the hex key provided.

Q8 Is a motorized version available?
A8 Due to liability issues, the PIVOT KIT ZX is not available with a motor/servo. However, our designers have included mounting points to enable customers to fit their own servo kits.

Q9 How bright are the LEDs? Is the kit available in other LED colors?
A9 The Pivot Kit ZX uses ultra bright BLUE or WHITE LEDs. These specific LEDs have been chosen for unbeatable intensity over a wide viewing angle for greater dispersion of light for:

• Illumination of the License Plate (LEDs are aimed in such a way as to provide illumination to the full width of plate)
• Illumination of the ZX Emblem
• Undertail & Ground effects illumination
• The PIVOT KIT ZX is not available in other LED colors.

Q10 How do I mount the kit to the undertail? Do I need any additional mounting hardware?
A10 When the bulky OEM plastic fender is removed, the PIVOT KIT ZX simply bolts into place with hardware provided. No additional parts needed.

Q11 Why do I need this kit?
A11 Most enthusiasts place great emphasis on cleaning up the rear tail with trick LED taillight Kits (check out the trick DR X Kit ZX). But when it comes to mounting the plate they simply screw on using a cheap ‘home-made’ bracket. The pivot kit provides a professional appearance with just the right aftermarket flare…the ultimate fender eliminator kit.
