CLEAR or CARBON TINT LENS Upgrade

Most of the aftermarket clear taillights offered for the 2003/04 GSX-R 1000 are inferior in quality due to poor molds and materials.  In our opinion the best way to obtain a quality clear lens look is to maintain the OEM housing and internal chrome reflector and simply change the outer lens (cheaper too!).

VFX has teamed up with automotive mold experts to fabricate an exact replica of the OEM outer lens with clear plastic or PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate); same material used for OEM lens.  The result is a clear lens with superior strength and clarity - the best we've seen.  VFX has gone one step further and produced a Carbon Tint Lens.  The Carbon Tint is sprayed onto the surface of the clear lens for a permanent finish ... resulting in a wicked looking taillight!

BLUE LED Upgrade

In addition to the clear lenses, the Dr X Kit 2003/04 GSX-R 1000 X-treme is available with a choice of all RED LEDs (similar to OEM) or with the bottom LED replaced with a BLUE LED.  As will all other Dr X X-treme Kits, the BLUE LED is fully programmable and can be toggled on/off ON-THE-FLY! See RIP Manual for more details.

The bottom LED was selected on the 2003/04 GSX-R 1000 for the BLUE LED upgrade as it is not part of the bottom LED arc chain.  In addition, replacing the bottom LED does not sacrifice visibility ... see demo's for preview.  The BLUE LED upgrade is only compatible with the CLEAR or CARBON TINT outer lenses.  The OEM RED lens does not allow the BLUE LED to shine through (optical cancellation).

The BLUE LED upgrade can be selected when purchasing the the DIY or PNP (PNP with Clear or Carbon Tint Lens only).  For customers who purchase the DIY kit with BLUE LED upgrade, be sure to purchase a Clear or Carbon Tint lens as well.
