Q1 Why do i need to replace my stock flasher relay?

A1 Most enthusiasts integrate, replace or remove signals from their motorcycle for a sleeker look.  This may draw less power from your stock relay and most likely trigger non DOT signaling speeds (fast flash, hyper flash or even no flash).  The OEMs have designed the stock flasher relay this way to warn riders of a possible burned out signal.  Replacing the stock flasher relay with a non load sensitive flasher relay is the easiest way to fix the issue.

Q2 What is the difference between the Universal Flasher Relay and the Flash Equalizer PRO Kit?

A2 Both solutions will work to resolve non DOT signaling issues.  The Universal Flasher Relay is less expensive and can be easier to install, however, for some bikes the stock flasher relay is not easily replaceable or not accessible.  For these bikes the Flash Equalizer PRO is recommended.

Q3 I like the fast flash blink rate (about 2-3 times faster than DOT), why should i change it?

A3 There is no harm done to the stock flasher relay if you do not correct the NON-DOT blink rate.  However, the authorities are also aware that when the signals on a vehicle are blinking at a speed other than the DOT rate, there may be a signal bulb burned out on a bike or you've altered your signals with aftermarket products that may not be DOT spec.  This is an invitation to pull you over and nab you for all your goodies ... why chance it!

Q4 Will the Universal Flasher Relay work on my bike/car?

A4 The Universal Flasher Relay will work on all bikes/cars with a stock 2-wire flasher relay.  Consult your owner's manual or your dealer to be certain.  Almost all Japanese models use 2-wire flasher relays.

Q5 What if the stock relay on my bike/car is not the 2-wire type?

A5 For bikes/cars equipped with stock flasher relays other than the 2-wire type, VFX offers the Flash Equalizer PRO kit. The flash equalizer pro will draw the necessary power required to restore the DOT flash rate without removing/replacing the stock flasher relay. The flash equalizer pro remains one of the most advanced load equalizer kits on the market with integrated heatsink and trick thermal runaway protection.

Q6 Will the connector fit my bike?

A6 The Universal Flasher Relay is equipped with a connector for PLUG 'n PLAY installation for the models indicated below.  For all other models with 2-wire flasher relays, the Universal Flasher Relay may be installed by splicing the wires.
