Animations & Settings

The Dr X ZX X-treme is designed with an onboard micro-processor for Ultimate Control and Operation of all 3 LED states (Park, Brake & OFF).  This allows for maximum visibility and taillight effectiveness.

Turn Signal Color

In addition to the RED LEDs for brake and park functions, the Dr X ZX X-treme is equipped with an abundance of YELLOW LEDs. Users may program the signal color of their choice (red or yellow).

The yellow LEDs are placed in strategic locations to work with the lens for maximum light output while preventing light bleed from one side of the taillight to the other – dramatically increasing signal visibility. In HAZARD mode, the hazard light color will be the same as the signal color programmed (if model is equipped with a hazard switch).

Special FX Animations (FX1 and FX2)

The Dr X ZX X-treme is equipped with 2 special effects. Both special effects can be activated/deactivated ON-THE-FLY (while riding)!  NEW for kits sold after Sept 2006 >> FX animations be LATCHED so that they can run continuously without leaving the L or R signal switch engaged! ... see RIP Manual for activation details

• FX1 LIGHTNING - LEDs strobe in a mesmerizing sequence; guaranteed to catch the attention of all who can see it! Brake overrides animation when pressed.

• FX2 STEALTH - when activated all the LEDs in your taillight turn off except the 2 highlight LEDs (either Blue or Green).  This creates a unique look that will be the envy of all.  Brake overrides animation when pressed.

Brake Animation

Users can select from the OEM brake ON/OFF animation or the X-treme brake animation.  The X-treme brake animation strobes the center red LEDs to further improve the reaction times of driver's behind you. 

Highlight LEDs

The highlight LEDs are available in BLUE or GREEN. These LEDs are provided as trick highlights for the ZX taillight and are simply to enhance the LOOK of your taillight – they differentiate your bike without having to activate any of the animations.

For those concerned with the legality of the highlight LEDs in your area, the highlight LEDs can be easily deactivated.  They can also be toggled ON-THE-FLY (while riding).

Start-Up Animation

As with every new gadget, riders want to show off the exciting new capabilities of your taillight – so VFX programmers have included a trick 8-second animation routine when starting your bike >> an industry first!  Users can program the Start-Up Animation to be ON or OFF.

OEM Hazard

For models equipped with a HAZARD switch, the Dr X Kit will respond to this switch by automatically activating the HAZARD animation with brake override. This feature is incorporated to maintain safety even if rear signals have been removed.
