Q1 What are the brackets for?

A1 The mounting brackets allow you to position the MicroStrip above your plate for ideal illumination.  Peel & Stick mounting makes installation a snap.  The brackets can also be adjusted to aim the light accordingly.  You do not need the brackets if you already have a mounting surface above the plate.

Q2 How do the brackets work?

A2 Included with the kit is the Anchor Bracket and the Offset Plate.  The Anchor Bracket is attached to the backside of the plate.  The Offset Plate is only required if your plate has a raised edge.  See exploded view ...

Q3 How bright are the LEDs?  Can i use the MicroStrip for accent lighting?

A3 The Chip LEDs are among the brightest available.  They are unique in that they can spread light over a wide angle like a bulb.  Great for plate illumination as well as accent lighting for illuminating a large target area.

Q4 Are other color combinations available?

A4 For the moment white, blue and green remain the brightest colors for chip LEDs.  As the technology evolves for other colors, VFX will be offering them.

Q5 Why is the connector option only available for Yamaha?

A5 Yamaha uses simple bullet connectors for the plate light.  Bullet connectors are widely used in the automotive industry and can be easily sourced.

Q6 Is the MicroStrip flexible?

A6 The MicroStrip can be stuck onto slightly curved surfaces (ie. undertails).
